In addition to ergonomics and material choices, one of the most important considerations in manufacturing the perfect bib shorts is the position of the padding. This positioning is done manually and requires an ‘expert hand’. Our team of professional seamstresses have been doing this since 1980.
We believe that comfort and optimal protection is critical for performance. Therefore, we have implemented these principles in in our design and manufacturing methodology. To support this approach we have used Elastic Interface Technology chamois (E.I.T.) in all our bib shorts since we established Ftech over 10 years ago.
E.I.T. developed and patented the first elastic pad in collaboration with the swiss garment manufacturer Assos and their latest offering, the new Hybrid Cell System chamois, is our current choice for Ftech.
The Hybrid Cell System chamois features a mixed-cell structure that delivers unprecedented elastic recovery. With its 200 kg/m³ ultra-density design, this chamois innovation elevates bib shorts padding to a whole new level, creating a chamois that is significantly thinner and lighter than gel alternatives, and also significantly more breathable and resistant to wear and tear.
PARIS HCS MEN PAD
Its ultra-high density inserts in the perineal and ischiatic area make it perfect for road, off-road and spinning. The central channel is engineered according to specific anthropometrical measurements to support the male anatomy while in the saddle, relieving pressure from the prostate and favouring blood flow.
This pad combines the benefit of the multidirectional curvature with a smooth surface ensuring a perfect fit, increasing saddle stability and offering gradual areas of transition. The perforations on the surface allow for higher air permeability, resulting in lower skin temperature and reduced moisture.

The Paris HCS pad for women was designed according to anthropometrical measurements and it guarantees support to the female anatomy during activity. The “pelvic tract” area was also tested and engineered to support the rotation of the pelvic bone while pedalling.

Endurance 2 Men has centrally sewn inserts and is made with a generation of high density foams. The X-Tract fabric has a double layer structure which helps collect and expel moisture. The perforated base layer provides increased breathability and quick dry. The Endurance 2 Men padding is our suggested chamois for long rides.

This pad has a central protective insert specially refined with a smaller and more accurate protective area. Developed with a new generation of high density foam that provide excellent protection for long distance rides combined with a great fit designed for female cyclists. Besides, EIT X-Tract fabric has a double layer structure which helps collect and expel moisture. The perforated base layer provides increased breathability and quick dry properties.
